“Each person holds so much power within themselves . . .. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, [and] a little coaching. [Then], the greatest things can happen.” ~Pete Carroll
Divorce impacts every area of life—finances, children, future possibilities. Clients often need more than just a legal agreement. They need help sorting through the impacts of divorce and creating a plan to move forward. They need a coach.
Divorce coaches help clients work through the emotional, relational, and pragmatic effects of their divorce—offering education and support at each step.
Coaches focus on:
- Guiding clients to discern if divorce or another option is the answer
- Preparing clients to participate in mediation sessions—organizing financial information for the property issues, developing priorities for a parenting plan, and articulating other elements to be included in the agreement
- Assisting clients to work through their own anger, sadness, and fear so they can make sound choices and participate constructively in mediation sessions
- Supporting clients as they create a vision for their future and then helping design a concrete plan for achieving that vision
As clients receive direction, support, and a little nudge—the greatest things begin to happen. They move forward into a hope-filled future.
